Name Change Survey
The Canadian Paraplegic Association’s (CPA) mission is “To assist persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation”.
CPA is currently exploring a potential renaming of the organization to best reflect the individuals whom we serve across Canada. There are four organizational names that have been identified internally as possible replacements for Canadian Paraplegic Association. They are:
- Spinal Cord Injury Canada
- Canadian Spinal Cord Association
- Spinal Cord Canada
- Canadian Paralysis Association
The purpose of this survey is to gather input from our members, consumers, sponsors, funders and community partners about renaming. Please note that we are proposing to change the name only; the logo and colours will remain the same.
You have been selected by your provincial CPA to complete an online survey regarding the potential name change. The purpose of this survey is to provide feedback on whether changing the name of CPA is something that you deem to be important and whether you think should CPA move forward in this direction.
Receiving input from people involved with CPA across the country will give a clear and significant representation of people’s opinions that will allow CPA National Board of Directors to make an informed decision.
Completion of this survey is very important as it will be used to determine: 1) Whether a name change is necessary 2) What new name is favoured by CPA stakeholders.
Data will first be compiled on a provincial basis, in order to assess answers posed by each province, then collected and compiled nationally. The questionnaire is completed online via a secure website called Survey Monkey. Your personalized and confidential link to complete the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SZ8JXLQ
This private, online tool assures anonymity, so please be honest and forthright. This process is being done for the best interests of CPA as a national organization. Your name will not appear anywhere on the final report provided by the national office. All responses will be grouped into confidential results without names attached. Each questionnaire will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Please complete the questionnaire as soon as possible to allow time for processing the report. All responses must be submitted by 5:00pm EST on September 30th, 2011.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process, or require the link resent, please do not hesitate to contact Adrienne Gowing. Should you have questions regarding the context of this assessment or validity of the process, please contact Bobby White.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this important initiative.
