Bill C-304 provides secure, adequate, accessible and affordable housing for Canadians.
On September 30th 2009,during it’s second reading, Bill C-304 had passed with a vote of 147 to 138. All NDP and Liberal MPs from Nova Scotia supported the Bill. This National Housing Strategy is meant to address Canada’s housing crisis to ensure the cost of housing does not interfere with the ability to meet other basic needs like food and access to education. Canada is the only major country in the world without a National Housing Strategy.
The Bill was studied by the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills Development, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (HUMA).
The Canadian Paraplegic Association of Nova Scotia supports this Bill in principle. We are urging everyone including our members and clients to read the Bill, if you support the Bill, please contact your Member of Parliament and let them know.
