Nationally RBC has an employee resource group called REACH and each region in Canada has their own chapter.  The Atlantic chapter was one of the first in the country to be active in executing their mission and has been up and running for just over three years. In Atlantic Canada, the Executive Chair is Liza Macdonald, RVP – South Western NS and the steering committee has representation from all four provinces.

The mission of REACH is to eliminate the negative stereotypes and stigma associated with people with disabilities as well as help drive engagement and performance of individuals through awareness, coaching and accommodation throughout RBC.  REACH supports individuals with and without disabilities to ensure all our staff, as well as the communities in which we live and work, are aware of  RBC’s commitment to inclusion and accommodation.

Each year REACH makes a $1000 donation to a community group or charity to help with their programming and this year, CPA was the deserving recipient.  A great example of the differences they make in people’s lives is the story of Rob MacIsaac who is currently doing a seven week work placement to help prepare him for the next chapter in his lift – studying Social Work in Edmonton, AB.

RBC is proud to support the great work CPA does with enabling individuals to “reach” for their goals and dreams through the support and resources they provide their clients and our local communities.
